February 9, 2008

On Tuesday February 5 a tornado touched down in Atkins and was on the ground for approximately 123 miles going through Clinton, Mountain View and other communities, ending in Hardy.  There were other smaller ones and up to four fingers off the large one.  One of the members of Conway 1st Ward who had come to Conway to attend the University of Central Arkansas was from Mountain View.  His parents home was one of those destroyed.  Several members of the Conway 1st ward traveled to Mountain View to assist with the cleanup.  Various stories on this and other tornados are available at Today's THV.
